Frequently asked questions

What is Vasiva Relay?

Vasiva Relay is a WhatsApp enquiry workflow product that acknowledges incoming enquiries, applies configured contact tags, notifies internal teams and records activity. It is the same product referred to on vasiva.co as Vasiva First Reply / First Reply.

Is Vasiva Relay the same as First Reply?

Yes. Vasiva Relay is the same WhatsApp enquiry workflow product. On the parent brand site (vasiva.co) it has been referred to as Vasiva First Reply / First Reply. The canonical product site is https://wa.vasiva.co; the parent product page is https://vasiva.co/products/first-reply.

What does Vasiva Relay do?

When an inbound WhatsApp Web message matches your configured triggers, Relay can send a first response, tag the contact, email your team, and log the activity.

Who is Vasiva Relay for?

Businesses that receive customer enquiries on WhatsApp and need the repetitive first operational steps handled consistently — for example admissions, sales, services and operations teams.

How does Vasiva Relay work?

The Chrome extension detects inbound WhatsApp Web messages. Relay evaluates configured triggers and can acknowledge, tag, notify and record — then your team continues the conversation.

How does acknowledgement work?

You configure the acknowledgement text and when it should send. On a match, Relay can send that reply so the enquiry is not left unanswered while your team prepares to follow up.

How are enquiries routed internally?

Relay can apply a contact tag and send an internal email notification so the right people see that an enquiry needs attention. It does not replace your team’s follow-up in WhatsApp.

Can we see what Relay did?

Yes. Activity records what ran for matched enquiries, including trigger matches and configured actions such as reply, tag and notification.

How does Relay approach security?

Relay uses JWT-authenticated access with audience checks, multi-tenant scoping by workspace, request sanitisation, rate limits, Fernet helpers for selected backend secrets when configured, and AES-GCM helpers for sensitive browser storage. We do not claim SOC 2, ISO, or Meta partnership without independent verification. See /product/security for the full evidence-based summary.

Where does enquiry data live?

WhatsApp message delivery stays with Meta’s WhatsApp Web. The extension stores configuration and operational caches locally. The authenticated Relay backend stores workspace-scoped contacts, workflow runs, activity, and email logs. Internal notification emails are sent via platform SMTP.

Does signing out or closing Chrome delete my data?

No. Sign out clears the local auth token and selected identity flags; Settings can clear local event logs. Closing Chrome does not delete server-side workspace data. Ask Vasiva if you need a workspace export or deletion request.

What does Relay require to operate?

Google Chrome, WhatsApp Web, the Vasiva Relay Chrome extension, and an authenticated Vasiva Relay workspace. WhatsApp Web must remain logged in during the hours you want automatic acknowledgements.

What happens if Chrome or WhatsApp Web closes?

Relay uses your existing WhatsApp Web browser session. If Chrome closes, the extension is disabled, WhatsApp Web logs out, or the network drops, automatic acknowledgements pause until the session and extension are available again. Your team can still reply manually in WhatsApp. Relay does not promise a real-time alert for every interruption.

What happens when automation is turned off?

Configured acknowledgement, tagging and notification actions do not run for new matches. You can turn automation back ON without removing the extension.

Can admissions teams use Relay?

Yes. A typical pattern is: student enquiry → configured acknowledgement → tag such as New Enquiry → notify admissions → record activity. Relay does not claim admission conversion improvements.

Can sales teams use Relay?

Yes. Relay helps keep inbound sales enquiries acknowledged and visible to the team. It does not automate closing deals or replace sales ownership.

Is Vasiva Relay a chatbot?

No. It is not a generic chatbot. It runs configured first-response and routing steps; humans own the conversation that follows.

Is Vasiva Relay a CRM?

No. Relay is not a CRM, ERP or autonomous sales agent. It focuses on WhatsApp enquiry workflow steps.

Does Relay send bulk WhatsApp messages?

No. Vasiva Relay is positioned as WhatsApp first-response automation — acknowledge, tag, notify and track inbound enquiries. It is not a marketing blast or spam tool. Some workspace plans retain optional advanced quotas (for example contact export tools); those are not the core Relay workflow and carry WhatsApp Web operational risk.

Is Vasiva Relay approved by Meta or an official WhatsApp Business Platform partner?

No. Default Relay acknowledgements use your WhatsApp Web browser session via a Chrome extension. That is not the same as Meta’s official WhatsApp Business Platform / Cloud API, and Vasiva does not claim Meta approval or partner certification for that path. WhatsApp delivery remains under Meta’s products and terms. In-product rate limits and delays are operational hygiene only — they do not eliminate account-restriction risk.

Does Relay support Tamil and English acknowledgement messages?

Yes for configured templates: you can save English, Tamil, or mixed Unicode acknowledgement text (including punctuation and emoji), and Relay preserves that text when sending. Relay does not claim that it autonomously understands or generates Tamil or English replies unless a separate AI-reply feature is explicitly enabled for your workspace.

How do we get access?

Use Get started to create your Relay account on the Sign up page, or review published plans on the Pricing page. Contact remains available for sales, pilot, and support questions.

Do you offer a measurable pilot?

Vasiva can run a managed 30-day pilot for a small number of businesses (capacity is limited). Pilots use agreed operating hours, baseline and weekly metrics, and explicit consent before any public naming. Contact Vasiva to discuss fit. Commercial pilot terms are confirmed separately and are not invented on the website. An automated acknowledgement is not the same as lead conversion.

Is pricing published on the website?

Yes. Monthly Trial, Starter, Growth, and Pro plans are published for the WhatsApp Web first-response ladder, with WhatsApp API Business listed separately as an API lane (after Pro). Amounts come from the Vasiva billing catalog. Optional advanced tools such as Full Scrape & Download are listed separately and are not the core first-response product.
